An Experienced Leader You Can Trust
Promoting Growth & Protecting Quality of Living
Michelle is running for Grand Prairie City Council with a commitment to ensuring that as we experience growth, expansion, and prosperity, all perspectives are considered.
Michelle welcomes business and growth, but NOT at the expense of the residents. We need someone willing to examine possibilities and opportunities, always keeping the current and future impacts to people, property and quality of living in mind.
Imagine a city that plans a future to benefit both the emerging developments and the well-established neighborhoods. Michelle's goals of bringing people together, respecting differences and working toward common goals will make Grand Prairie a community everyone is proud to call home.
Michelle learned the values of hard work, determination, and entrepreneurship at a young age: there were no “odd jobs,” only getting the job done.
Her grandmother, who ran the family flower shop alone while raising three children after losing her husband, became one of Michelle’s earliest role models. At a time when women business owners were rare, she led with resilience and dedication. As a teenager working in the shop, Michelle gained a deep appreciation for that commitment.
In high school, Michelle also worked at a local Wendy’s, where she learned customer service, teamwork, and had her first taste of leadership.
At 18, she left home to manage her life and finances independently. While earning a degree in construction science at Texas A&M, Michelle worked multiple jobs, including apartment maintenance and house cleaning, relying on her work, loans and grants to support her education. She remained focused despite challenges.
Building on her education and career experience in construction, real estate, and community leadership, Michelle became President and CEO of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce and connected with the people and businesses of Grand Prairie for more than 6 years. She is now back in commercial construction project management with The Beck Group. Her passion for building - whether vibrant communities, relationships or buildings, defines her career.
Beyond her career, Michelle serves on the Grand Prairie Family YMCA board and the Lakewood HOA as treasurer. She also serves on the board of Children First Counseling Center, Grand Prairie ISD Career and Technical Education Advisory Board, Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful, and participates in Habitat for Humanity.
Michelle raised her family in Grand Prairie since 1999.
